Our services are designed for commercial-scale projects and repeat trade supply programs, not one-off personal imports.
End-to-End Import & Sourcing Services
We manage the full offshore sourcing and import process, allowing clients to focus on delivery and build execution.

Importer of Record & Customs Framework
Importer of Record (Default Position)
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, NZ Imports acts as the Importer of Record for goods sourced and supplied under its import programs. This allows us to:
Manage import documentation and clearance coordination
Control compliance processes
Provide clients with delivered-to-NZ pricing and certainty
Client as Importer of Record (By Exception)
A client may elect to act as Importer of Record only where this is expressly agreed in writing prior to order placement. Where the client is Importer of Record, the client assumes full legal responsibility for:
Customs and MPI compliance
Duties, GST, levies, and taxes
Product certification and regulatory obligations
Customs Brokerage
NZ Imports does not operate as a licensed customs broker. Customs clearance is coordinated through approved third-party brokers, whether NZ Imports or the client is acting as Importer of Record.
Service Scope & Exclusions
To ensure transparency and manage commercial risk, the following boundaries apply:
Minimum Order & Project Scale
NZ Imports focuses on bulk orders, containerised shipments, and repeat supply programs.
Minimum order values or volume thresholds may apply depending on product category and factory requirements.
Small personal imports and non-commercial purchases are outside our scope.
Product Categories Not Sourced (Unless Pre-Approved)
NZ Imports does not source or import the following unless specifically approved in advance:
Food or beverage products
Pharmaceuticals or medical devices
Hazardous, restricted, or controlled goods
Products requiring specialist licensing not disclosed at enquiry stage
Commercial Structure & Pricing
Project / Indent Supply
Custom-quoted products sourced specifically for a project, development, or commercial program. Specifications, quantities, lead times, and compliance requirements are agreed prior to order confirmation.
Stocked & Repeat Trade Supply
Selected products may be stocked locally or supplied under ongoing trade programs, enabling:
Faster lead times
Consistent SKU pricing
Reduced procurement friction for builders and merchants
Pricing Status
Indicative Pricing: Early estimates provided for budgeting or feasibility only.
Contract-Locked Pricing: Pricing becomes fixed once specifications, quantities, lead times, and commercial terms are confirmed in writing.

NZ Imports operates on a transparent commercial margin model, embedded within product pricing or service fees depending on the engagement type. This reflects sourcing, quality control, logistics coordination, compliance management, and commercial risk.
